Lacouture will show a sequential set of unique woodblock prints, oil paintings, works from her highly praised MAMA drawing series, and a site-specific beaded installation titled House Jewelry. House Jewelry is a beaded installation comprised of multiple cascading strands of colorful beads, wire, and necklace-like clasps. These adornments for interior and exterior architecture anoint and protect the place in which they hang. The beads and bells in House Jewelry represent the passage of time and the accumulation of devotional intentions amassed for power. These strands are meant to be touched and interact- ed with. The viewer is invited to explore the colorful wooden beads, pinwheels, and bells.
