As the pandemic grinds on and we remain estranged from the normalcy of our pre-pandemic lives as well as from those we love, Crystalle Lacouture continues making a series of tribute drawings on paper shooting targets. Her mother, the original inspiration for this work, has entered yet another difficult stage of her cancer treatment, and so she makes these drawings in her honor as a means of protection and love.
A year into this daily practice, the intention for this body of work has expanded beyond Lacouture’s connection to her “MAMA” and is offered widely to those, particularly mothers, who may need healing energy and uplift in this time of hardship. Part of the power of these works is in their accumulation over many days. We’re honored that she will bring her practice and materials to Praise Shadows and make new MAMA works throughout the day on Sunday, February 6 from 12 to 6 pm. Please join us.
